BT PRESENTER Darrell Currie believes Celtic will be in with a fresh offer on Aberdeen’s Scott McKenna in January if they had scouts at the Ibrox game on Wednesday night.

The defender got the early goal for the Dons and then became a rock at the back to provide Aberdeen all three SPFL points on the night.

Currie believes there is ‘no doubt’ the bhoys will be back in for the player.

Celtic have been in for McKenna before in the dying embers of the summer transfer window.

Celtic had two bids rejected for the defender; the second bid was reported to be around £3.25million. That would have been a rather sizeable outlay for the club given McKenna is unproven to a certain degree.

McKenna could be a great player in time but the figures being bandied about just seem like it will not happen unless Aberdeen suddenly accepts a lower value for their star which is very unlikely. Aston Villa reportedly had a £6million bid turned down on deadline day and there’s no way Celtic go that high – is there?

  1. McKenna should not be signed on any account.
We should have players like him at the club. This would be a disaster.
    His game is ugly.
