A Spanish based publication Diariogol has claimed former Celtic right-back Jeremie Frimpong could be in line for a sensational move to Real Madrid within the next 12 months.

The former Celtic star who was only really at the club for a brief spell was sold to Bayer for a whopping £13m last January. It took us all by surprise, considering the Hoops snapped up the player from Manchester City for a nominal fee.

Jeremie has been doing well at Leverkusen and was part of the side that beat Celtic both home and away in the Europa League this season.

However, a move to Real Madrid seems very premature for the defender who still has a lot left to do in order to become a top player.

If he’s making the right noises and Real Madrid do come calling for him in the next 12 months – CeltsArehHere have been made aware there is a sell-on clause attached to his Leverkusen deal from Celtic.

We’re not aware of what percentage Celtic have managed to negotiate but if a big transfer is in Jeremie’s future, he could yet yield the Bhoys more cash.
