Danish side Nordsjaelland has revealed they held talks with Celtic youngster Karamoko Dembele in the winter.

As quoted by Glasgow Live, manager Flemming Pedersen claimed that his side spoke with Dembele about bringing him to the club amidst speculation around his future at the beginning of this year.

“He turned up as an opportunity in the winter.

“Often, when it comes out, the media is half a year late to it. When something comes out, it’s often four or six months late, but there is nothing now.

“There were talks in the winter, but it was something that we ourselves helped to shut down.

“At that time, we thought we had the players we needed.“

Recent reports suggested that the young winger could be subject to interest once again from the Danish Superliga side. However, it appears there aren’t currently any fresh talks about a move.

Pedersen added: “It can go so fast in football, and many things I do not know before a real opportunity arises for a player, on whom I have to help make a decision about.“

Supporters were left in the lurch, right up until the end of the season with the 18-year olds contract situation, with many thinking his deal came to an end this summer.

In the last home fixture of the season, interim boss John Kennedy revealed that Dembele had another year left on his contract.

So, there is a chance that we can finally see him feature in the first-team action if he impresses during pre-season under new boss Ange Postecoglou.
