Celtic made three deadline day swoops in the end.

Greg Taylor, Lee O’Connor and Jeremie Frimpong. The players add depth to Celtic’s backline with Taylor for the here and now and the duo coming in from Manchester will likely start as developmental.

Jeremie Frimpong made the move to Celtic after nine years at City. The player has been at the Etihad, climbing up the ranks since he was nine years of age.

Celtic had seen the full-back play in an under 23 game and quickly went about trying to sign Jeremie.

The permanent four-year deal for the defender surprised many on deadline day.

Now we’ve got a glimpse into how Celtic managed to get the deal done in time and they’ve conceded a lot of the players future fee.

According to SunSport, Manchester City have attached a whopping 30% sell-on clause to the deal. Meaning if Celtic do develop Jeremie and eventually sell the defender on for a decent fee, the English club will get 30%.

The deal upfront was pretty cheap though. The same report claim Celtic have only shelled out £325k up front with another potential £600k in add-ons based on the player’s development and first team appearances.
