BT Sport pundit and former Celtic striker Chris Sutton has come under a bit of stick recently by the Hoops support for his comments surrounding certain matters but has yet to properly criticise, manager Neil Lennon.

Writing in his Daily Record column today though, the Englishman aimed some criticism towards his ex Celtic team-mate Lennon and even made the worrying comparison between him and Ronny Deila.

“This was Neil’s Deila moment in Molde, that night in Norway when you thought the man was a goner in his homeland. Deila’s team were a shambles, there was a bust-up with Kris Commons when he was taken off and there were fans outside the stadium around the bus.

“Molde back then was Sparta Prague on Thursday night. Team a shambles. Players arguing with pundits. Players on the phone during a game”

Deila certainly was a manager who had to face his critics for poor performances, especially after results, such as Molde which Sutton references.

That Europa League campaign, finished in an extremely poor manner with Celtic not picking up a single win from the group. At the moment, we seem to be heading that way this season.

So, many have already started to ask the question if this season keeps going in the trajectory it has been, should Lennon be facing the same amount stick to Ronny at this stage with the form we are on.

  1. In my opinion Sutton is really excusing Lennon by bringing RD into it. More or less saying “look RD did it first”. Still really uncritical of Lennon.
