Chris Sutton did not water down his words today when he read the changes Alex McLeish made for Scotlands showdown with San Marino. Sutton was not impressed with the exclusion of James Forrest from the starting line-up.

Only two Celtic players made the starting eleven today for Scotland. Both Scott Bain and Callum McGregor started for Scotland as big Eck made six changes. Some Celtic fans may be happy to see their winger get a rest ahead of next Sundays Glasgow derby.

McGregor probably needs the game time after the midfielder spent over a month out injured. Scott Bain can only gain from the experience. Scotland currently leads 0-1 and will look for a second goal early in the second half to avoid another embarrassing slip-up. James Forrest and Oli Burke can still be called upon from the bench if needed.

Bain, O’Donnell, Bates, McKenna, Robertson, Russell, McGregor, McLean, Fraser, Paterson, Armstrong

Subs: McLaughlin, Kelly, Palmer, Souttar, Fleck, McGinn, McTominay, Shinnie, Burke, Forrest, McBurnie, McNulty

  1. I agree with what Sutty is saying but the less Celtic players involved in these games the better. It has worked a little in our favour with Calmac getting a good runout before the game against the zombies next week.
