CHRIS SUTTON has called out the English Premier League clubs who believe they can try and pinch Celtic’s players on the cheap while paying big bucks for players who aren’t as good elsewhere.

The news Wan Bissaka has been subject of a £50million bid from Manchester Utd has put Arsenal’s derisory £15million bid into sharp focus. Both full backs, both young and talented but the difference in price is ridiculous.

The BT Sports pundit pulled out a perfect example when John Stones signed for Manchester City for near £50million around the same time Celtic were selling Virgil van Dijk for £13million.

The Englishman hits the nail on the head with the comparison. Not then or now has Virgil van Dijk been inferior to John Stones yet the price contrast was outrageous at the time.

Celtic are in no hurry to sell their top defender. If Arsenal or any Premier League club believe they can get the left back on the cheap then it will make the boards decision very easy this summer.
