CHRIS SUTTON has reacted to Ally McCoist taking a dig at the random nature of the SPFL fixtures after the first Glasgow Derby date was scheduled for mid-October.

There seems to be a profound issue across the city with Celtic fans being potentially allowed to go to this game as it’s later in the football calendar.

It smacks of desperation that they want to actively see and empty Celtic Park.

Chris Sutton got his first laugh of the season as a result.

Best case scenario, fans are allowed back into stadiums to make the fixture what it is. Worst case, we’re still not allowed into ground and we watch it from behind closed doors.

Making an issue out of the fact the game isn’t scheduled for earlier to give the away side an advantage speaks to the sort of acrimony we find ourselves stuck within Scottish football. Time for these ‘grown men’ to grow up.
