CHRIS SUTTON was at Celtic Park on Thursday evening to watch his old sidce breeze into the semi-final with a 3-0 win over Raith Rovers.

Goals from Jota, Abada and Turnbull won the game but there was a mystery at full time. Celtic fans inside the ground were wondering why they didn’t get their first look at new striker Gorgios Giakoumakis.

It has transpired the player pulled up in the warm-up and it’s being treated so seriously the new Celtic signing is already away for a scan this evening.

Sutton reacted to the news on social media.

Celtic have only had one fit striker since Kyogo went down injured days after Celtic sold Odsonne Edouard and offloaded Leigh Griffiths.

Ajeti has been getting the game time but he isn’t the answer for Celtic in the long term.

Having Giakoumakis in our back pocket, ready to play on Thursday evening was delivering some much needed firepower upfront, but that was snatched away from Celtic and now we await the results of the scan.

  1. Chris don’t hang up yer boots just yet. Celtic really need someone up front. But not to talk them up. Kyogo’s injury is just one in a long list on the physios table and hardly anyone of them has taken a Scott Brown-esque type tackle. Very worrying it is. Worrying indeed. Sounds like it going to be a very, very long season for this squad of players. Going on injuries now, compared to all this on coming seasons games and stresses.

  2. Just one blip after another,, I’m sure we’ll get there Chris, across the city, yes their pulling three point together just!! I don’t see one happy face at ibrox and that should be a worry for them something is simmering,, Haggi off to Roma? in Jan for 17million?? Who agrees a price in September for a January sale??? When the player could be injured well before then,,,more smoke than mirrors,, no one wants any Rangers players,,its all kidology to appease the fans,,let them think they have 17million coming in,,,when actually no one wants any of them,,they’re stuck with that team
