CHARLIE MULGREW scored a brace from the penalty spot last night as he brought his side back from a two goal deficit against Reading.

The former Celtic star has been on penalty duties since the start of last season and has racked up the goals for the Ewood Park side.

Tony Mowbray’s men were looking down the barrel of a home defeat at half time, trailing 2-0 at the interval.

However, an inspired second half by the players seen them win two penalties – both carefully dispatched by their set piece wizard.

Mulgrew left Celtic two seasons ago after failing to come to terms on a new deal with the club. His final season at Celtic was under Ronny Deila and the player looked out on his feet and was regarded by many as someone who was no longer capable of taking the team forward.

His Blackburn Rovers revival has breathed new life into the player’s career as helped the former Premier League champions out of League one back into the Championship.

Blackburn are currently 9th in the table after four games but they are yet to be beaten with one win and three draws to their name.

Mulgrew’s brace did have Chris Sutton wondering if the Charlie Mulgrew could still do a job for Celtic.

No Chris, no he can’t.
