CELTIC steamrolled St Johnstone on Sunday without really getting out of second gear on the day.

Despite the state of the pitch and the opposition looking to stifle the Scottish Champions, they made it look easy. Not only that, but they played some great football at times and the goal from Aaron Mooy was particular highlight.

BBC Pundit Michael Stewart was full of praise for this Celtic side who doesn’t feel like the bhoys can be stopped.

Speaking on Sportscene, Stewart said: “You say it’s going to take something special to stop them and that’s exactly it.

“It needs to be something special to stop Celtic on any one day.

“And if you extrapolate that across a full season it will have to be something extra special to be able to stop this Celtic side at the moment.

“For every other club in the country, that’s the benchmark that they’ve got to try to attain.

“At the moment Celtic are streets ahead of everyone else.

“Aaron Mooy says it’s a great team to play in, loads of movement, and their first goal just typified that. It’s difficult to defend against with so many players moving at pace.”

The bhoys are nine points clear at the top of the table for a reason. They continue to break down defences and low blocks like they’re not even there. The Celtic manager has moulded this team into his vision and believes there’s more to come.

It is clear that Postecoglou has been the driving force behind Celtic’s success and it is no surprise that his team is the benchmark for the rest of the league. With the team showing no signs of slowing down, it does looks like it will take something special to stop them.

  1. Most pitches will be like yesterday till end of season, not ideal but the weather and expensive upkeep won.t go away, would be ironic if we played smooth footie at the clubs with the drastic plastic surface ? Parkhead pitch not up to our standard quality, hampden really poor and only decent thing about the old firm fc pitch is it,s GREEN
