Celtic defender Alistair Johnston has taken to Instagram to tell his followers he’s taking ‘Scottish lessons’.

How is he doing that, exactly? He’s watching episodes of Still Game!

The Canadian signed officially in the January window but had been in Scotland since December since moving from the MLS.

His attitude on and off the field has been first class to this point and he looks to have already settled in to life in Glasgow.

One thing for any Canadian coming over to Glasgow is trying to grasp the accent. Celtic put out a video last week of Greg Taylor teaching the right-back some slang terms and what they meant.

He’s obviously been advised to stick on the popular Still Game series by his teammates to really get a feel for some of the idiosyncrasies within the Glasgow twang.

If he can’t pick it up from Ford Kiernan and Greg Hempill’s hit Scottish show then he’ll never grasp it.

Alistair is a really sociable guy and will talk the ear off anyone if they allow him. It’s great to see him enjoying life in Glasgow. It’s only a matter of time before he’s asking people if they ‘like the PlayStation’.
