Celtic remain in talks with Go Ahead Eagles over a deal for Jakob Breum, but progress has been slow after the Dutch club rejected two separate offers over the weekend.
The latest bid, believed to be worth £2.6 million, has been knocked back, falling short of Go Ahead Eagles’ valuation of the Danish winger. The Eredivisie side are in no rush to sell and are standing firm, confident they can command a significantly higher fee for one of their top talents.
Go Ahead Eagles have rejected two bids from Celtic at the weekend for attacking midfielder Jakob Breum.
It’s understood the latest offer was £2.6m, which fell well below #GAE’s valuation.
The 21yo has two years left on his contract and can play on both wings.

Breum, 21, has two years left on his contract. Capable of playing on the wings, it’s a signing Celtic desperately need to make, currently short on wide options following the departure of Nicolas Kuhn and long-term injury to Jota.
The so far hopeless negotiations bring back an all-too-familiar dilemma for the club. Early identification of a promising target, followed by a reluctance to meet the asking price.
The Hoops have now made multiple approaches for the Denmark U21 international, but unless a significant shift in valuation is made, there’s a risk the deal drags on or collapses altogether.
With the summer window entering its latter stages and Brendan Rodgers keen to strengthen his front line, Celtic will need to act decisively if they are serious about bringing Breum to Glasgow.

This story brings back memories of the John McGinn saga. Why don’t they just pay the asking price, or somewhere close to it. That Celtic Board is an embarrassment to Scotland with its penny pinching and I just want everyone outside of Scotland to know that it’s Irish owned, not Scottish owned.
