CELTIC will have to see off interest from Burnley if they are to secure the signing of Taylor Harwood-Bellis. [The Sun]

The hoops have registered an interest with the player as they look to add quality and depth to the backline.

However, with Burnley’s interest in the player, it could be tricky for Celtic to strike a deal.

Vincent Kompany, who previously worked with the player, is keen to reunite with Taylor. The former Man City defender is set to be announced as the boss of Burnely imminently, with Shaun Maloney possibly joining him.

If Celtic’s interest is genuine, they will look to make official contact in the coming days or risk the player moving on.

Personally, if I had a newly relegated Championship club and a team that will be playing Champions League football next season were after me, I know what team I’d go with.

However, as we’ve seen in recent years, teams like Celtic are looked down upon, despite offering a great platform for young footballers.

Not many teams give players the chance to lift silverware, play in front of 60,000 passionate fans and play in the top tier of European football.

It’ll be interesting to see how Celtic react and if they do make an official approach.
