GREG TAYLOR Has spoken out about the speculation surrounding him after a week of rumours linking Celtic with a bid for the Rugby Park defender.

The left-back has been touted as a potential Kieran Tierney replacement but the defender has confirmed he hasn’t spoke about any interest with Kilmarnock because there has been no official bids.

Taylor believes getting his head down and getting on with playing his football is the best tact to take at the minute. He is t trying to rock the boat at Kilmarnock and he wants to keep impressing his own club.

“I’m contracted to Kilmarnock so I’ve just got to keep doing what I can. If that’s enough to impress other teams that can only be a positive.” Taylor told RecordSport.

“I’ve not had to speak to the manager about it yet because there’s not been a bid come in.

“You don’t really have any choice, you’ve got to do your job on a Saturday.

“If you’re not doing that the suitors and talk about moves will quickly go away. So it’s important to get the head down and just work hard.”

Taylor might be an option but heavy reports over the weekend have claimed Birger Meling will be the man who comes in to replace Kieran Tierney. The Rosenborg player could be announced this week.

Meling played against Celtic four times last season with the left-back winning admirers among the Celtic support and apparently caught the eye of some scouts at the club.

Time is running out for Celtic to bolster their squad for the season ahead. The Bhoys have a big game at Celtic Park on Thursday against AIK.
