It’s not often I start the day in a positive fashion but after seeing Celtic dominate Kilmarnock last night it’s hard to be anything other than positive.

Ronny Deila’s Celtic side travelled to Ayrshire on Monday night knowing Aberdeen had crept 4 points in front and bhoy did that spark a dominant team performance.

You could make a case that Kris Commons stood out from the rest, hitting the woodwork on more than one occasion and VERY unlucky not to get on the scoresheet but overall what shone through the most was the teams performance.

You had young Liam Henderson showing composure beyond his age, Stefan Johansen seemed to be everywhere and never stopped, Izzaguire got on the score sheet playing more as a winger than a left back and even Craig Gordon who didn’t have much to do all evening came up with the goods the two times Celtic needed him – the list goes on and on.

After the Dundee Utd defeat and Ross County draw it was clear Ronny wasn’t going to rely on all the same players to get him through the trip to Rugby Park and the inclusion of Henderson and Commons really did the business. Many people sighting that Commons should have started a lot more games this season in the first place, better late than never though!

On a night where so many in the media, including some ex-Celts were hoping Celtic would drop points against Kilmarnock so they could hit the panic button on the Celtic manager, they were left severely disappointed although we were reminded by David Tanner that Andy Walker did not like Ronny’s fist pumping antics – I’m sure Ronny is devastated.

Stefan Scepovic got the other goal with a real poachers effort, instinctively sticking his foot out to meet the ball after Ambrose directed it towards goal. The big Serbian is enthusiastic but offers very little outside the 6 yard box.

Overall it was another case of two goals going on ten but the performance was there along with the three points, Leaving me to ponder, maybe Celtic should get an artificial pitch if they’re going to play like that on it. It really is only a matter of time before it clicks in the final third and someone takes a real doing off us,
