CELTIC scouts will be busy from now until the summer after a successful but short term fix January window.

Celtic will see off at least TEN players in the summer at this moment in time between loan deals ending and contracts running out. Of course, Celtic may look to re-sign some of the out of contract players, but if you read down the list, there’s maybe one or two who could stay, but the rest are likely gone.

  • Mikael Lustig (Out of Contract)
  • Dedryck Boyata (Out of Contract)
  • Cristian Gamboa (Out of Contract)
  • Filip Benkovic (Loan Ends)
  • Emilio Izaguirre (Out of Contract)
  • Jeremy Toljan (Loan Ends)
  • Dorus de Vries (Out of Contract)
  • Scott Allan (Out of Contract)
  • O.Burke (Loan Ends)
  • T.Weah (Loan Ends)

Out of all of them, Celtic would like to keep Dedryck Boyata, but the player wants to go elsewhere. Lustig might be in line for a one-year contract extension. With the loan players, perhaps there’s room for Weah to stay another season if both parties want a deal. We’re too early to suggest what would happen with Toljan.

West Brom has indicated they have no intention of letting Burke go full time, so Oli is only around until the end of the campaign. Sadly Benkovic is destined to head to the Premier League to finally get his Leicester career underway.

The rest look Certs to leave, Izzy only signed a one-year deal; Dorus de Vries will move on, and Scott Allan will move to Hibs.

There will also be players who move on for fees, loans etc.

*Limited Edition: Only 200 available.

If Rodgers is still keen to reduce a bloated squad, then the summer will provide that, however, there will have to be a rebuilding process in place to ensure Celtic can compete.
