Sky Sports pundit Kevin Campbell has claimed that Kristoffer Ajer will move to English Premier League side Newcastle United this summer.

Last week, the Norwegian defender made his intentions clear that he would be departing the club last week and the likes of Newcastle, Norwich City and Bayern Leverkusen have been linked with a move.

As reported by Chronicle Live speaking to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton frontman claimed that a move to the Magpies is almost certain to happen this summer as he prepares to make a move away from Parkhead.

“That is going to happen.

“The lure of Newcastle, who are a big club, is going to be a bit too strong, I think. Ajer, like the majority of players out there, wants to play in the Premier League. It is a big draw.

“I am pretty sure that one is going to happen. From what I hear from people in the game, he has made his intentions quite clear.”

The 23-year old is one of the player’s fans felt was definitely going to leave this summer, and last weeks comments back that up.

Ajer is coming into the final year of his deal at the club, so you would hope we are doing everything we can to get a decent fee out of any side looking to buy the defender.

That money could also be key in adding funds to this summers massive rebuild.
