ARSENAL fans are getting themselves excited about a potential link between Celtic and Brentford left-back Rico Henry.

SunSport are claiming today Rico has emerged as a target for Celtic and part of a backup plan if Arsenal do have a bid accepted for Kieran Tierney in the next 48 hours.

The Premier League transfer window comes to a close on Wednesday leaving little time left for the Gunners to show their hand with regards to the Celtic full-back.

Should they get a bid accepted Celtic would look to bring in someone in his position to challenge Boli Bolingoli for the position.

Rico, 22, played 16 times for Brentford last term and where this whole report falls apart is the claim Brentford would hold out for £7m for the player.

Celtic aren’t in the business of paying that amount for a player who doesn’t have a decent CV. Right now all Rico Henry has is some game time for Walsall and 16 appearances for Brentford.

  1. Please no. Don’t know much about the boy but he has played 37 games since 2016. That is about 10 games a season. Signing an injury prone player is just plain stupid.
