It’s not ideal starting our season so early but for many Celtic fans it’s an early chance to scratch that Celtic itch.

You wont find many complaining tonight as they make their way to the ground to get a look at Ronny and the Bhoys as they start a new Champions League adventure.

The Scottish Champions welcome FC Stjarnan to Glasgow in the first leg of their Champions League qualifier. Celtic will be without Kris Commons who is still nursing a minor injury, other than that Ronny has pretty much a full squad to pick from. New Bhoy Boyata expected to start while Lustig will start at right back after the departure of Adam Matthews. Saidy Janko has an outside chance of a start but it’s a safer bet to say the Swede will get the nod.

The midfield picks itself, expect to see Johansen and Brown snapping at heels while Biton sprays the passes. Gary McKay Steven deserves a start in the team for his pre-season form, the Bhoy from Dudnee has been a very bright spark for Celtic.

The one problem Deila has is up-front. Will he go with his top goal scorer last season in Leigh Griffiths or will he start with new signing Nadir Ciftci?

Personally I think Leigh deserves the chance to cement himself as first choice striker but Ronny does like the throw in a surprise from time to time.

Celtic are expected to win comfortably tonight but they must be careful not to be caught cold by the Icelandic outfit. Deila does not want a repeat of last seasons qualifiers and he’ll have everybody raring to go come kick off.
