We had kicked off a five day best of the banter years theme on the build-up to the Glasgow Derby earlier this month. But the joke was on us as it quickly became apparent that the world of football was to be suspended.
For the non-Celtic person who for some reason might be stumbling onto this article – the banter years covers Celtic’s ongoing domestic success and the demise, death and laughable pop-up club that currently plays out of Ibrox.
Every year with the backing of the mainstream media in Scotland, Celtic fans are led to believe that their days of ruling the roost are coming to an end. But eight titles later and a library full of banter bits, the show goes on.
As the whole world comes up with ways to keep themselves entertained while on lockdown a good laugh at your mental neighbours is not a bad way to pass the time.
Some Celtic fan on Twitter has just asked for one photo of a player who belongs in the Banter Years Hall of Fame and we’ve picked out some of the cringy hysterics we should never let them forget.
