Neil Lennon has been publicly backed for the second time in a week amid an emerging war which goes beyond the Irishman with the board and Celtic support.

Lennon out rhetoric has changed in recent days to ‘sack the board’ as they fail to act to what’s happening on the park.

It’s not just this two wins in twelve run, it’s the whole season, the dire performances and the lack of any real reaction as we stumble from one game to the next.

We’re out of the Champions League, Europa League, League Cup and effectively out of the title race after the draw against St Johnstone. No manager in Celtic’s modern history would have survived such a run — that is, until now.

SunSport revealed Dermot Desmond’s support from Neil Lennon went beyond a zoom call and they actually got on the phone in where the majority shareholder stated to the manager he knows Lennon has what it takes.

The scenes out Celtic Park are there for all to see. The fans who have backed the club and throughout the pandemic to the tune of some eye watering numbers for a tv subscription, feel let down.

The supporters feel they are being patronised and passed off as irrational and passionate. With ten in a row looking all but over, the board will likely see a backlash this summer.
