Celtic had a poor game all around on Sunday against The Rangers. Never really getting a foot hold in the game and paying the price for it.

The Ibrox club beating us in our backyard is not something to be taken lightly and while we reflect we should look at what we can do better in the new year.

One man who I’d personally love to see get a chance in the Hoops is Greg Taylor.

Boli Bolingoli can give you a good attacking presence but quite simply put, when our backs are against the wall I don’t have any confidence in the Belgian delivering something. His slackness can be detrimental and a possession killer on bad days like Sunday.

Greg Taylor came in at the start of September and has had limited opportunity so far.

A more natural left back who has the defensive side down and is learning to do more at Celtic.

This is not writing a eulogy of Bolingoli’s Celtic run and simply hand over the reins to Taylor. It would be good to test the Scottish defender – let’s see what he’s got. Playing Jonny Hayes when Boli was out injured, while adequate has stunted Taylor’s growth.

I fully expect to see Taylor in the first line up of 2020 when Celtic are away to Partick Thistle in the Scottish Cup.
