CELTIC’S Deadline Day signings of Giorgos Giakoumakis, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Jota have proven pivotal in Celtic’s title run. Celtic’s tweet with all three posing with their Celtic jersey’s at Lennoxtown was a pivotal moment for the club.

Without the trio, it’s safe to say that Celtic wouldn’t be in the position they are in just now. Giakoumakis’s eleven league goals, Jota’s nine goals and ten assists, and Carter-Vickers’ solid defensive work have been massive this year.

Jota and Carter-Vickers are both on loan at the club, but the club do have an option to buy. It’s expected that Celtic will trigger this clause, with Ange Postecoglou confirming that discussions are currently underway.

Giakouamkis signing from the Dutch league. He was the top scorer in his previous campaign despite VVV Venlo getting relegated.

It shows that a string deadline day can shape how the season turns out. Each addition has contributed something different. Jota’s flair has defenders left dazzled, Giakouamkis’ natural scoring instinct has led him to push for the league’s top-scorer, and Carter-Vickers has been essential to have the best defensive record in the league.

  1. Signing these two players, CCV & Jota, is a must!

Signing the other players we’ve been linked with, Solbakken and his Bodo/Glimt teammate, goalkeeper Haikin, and left back Jeahze from Hammarby, would give us the strength in depth we need in three pivotal positions for a crack at the Champions League and for defending our title next season!

We could be doing with another quality player who fits with the UEFA 8 national league players criteria too, and possibly another centre back depending on how Jullien fits into Ange’s plans.

I trust Ange to bring in the right players for the club given what he’s done to date!
