ANGE Postecoglou has talked about how ruthless he’ll be in the transfer market, admitting he’s not scared of moving fan favourites on.
While everyone is discussing who could leave Celtic this summer, David Turnbull’s name is forgotten.
When David Turnbull joined Celtic in 2020, expectations were high. He had made an impressive impact at Motherwell, and fans were eager to see what he could bring to the club.
However, despite his innate talent, Turnbull has found himself on the periphery of the team this season.
Given the talent he has shown, and the potential to make an impact elsewhere, it may be best for Turnbull to move away from Celtic.
A move to a club down south could provide him with a platform to reach his fullest potential and the financial compensation for Celtic could be attractive. It is a shame to see a player of his quality not being used to his full potential.
At only 23, Turnbull still has time to develop, but Celtic may be the wrong place for him to do so. He’s only getting a few odd minutes from the bench occasionally and isn’t able to make a meaningful contribution.
The club should take the opportunity to make a profit on a player they purchased for a fair fee, and Turnbull should take the opportunity to make a name for himself elsewhere. It might be tough to get any sort of meaningful fee due to David entering the final year of his deal.
Ultimately, it may be best for both parties to part ways. Celtic could benefit from the financial gain, and Turnbull could benefit from the chance to reach his full potential with some consistent minutes.
It would be a shame to see such a talented player leave, but, if he can’t develop or make a meaningful impact, he’s wasted at Celtic.

Has had a fair chance but hasn’t taken it. Highlights the problem we are going to have filling 8 places in our squad with home grown players. That may save his Celtic career but he just isn’t good enough for Champions League. Nor is O’Riley or our overrated captain who looks good against the SPFL cannon fodder but is continually posted missing at Ibrox & in Europe against quality.
We will, hopefully win title for the forseeable future, but IMO our squad is nowhere near good enough to make an impact in Europa League never mind the CL.

We can’t get rid of any Scottish developed player as we only registered the minimum of 8 Scottish developed players in the champions league squad which included James McCarthy. So if James or David are sold or leave we have to name a scots developed player in the champions league squad to replace them. Mikey Johnson is coming back so that is one and I recon that McCarthy is the one more likely to leave.
