CELTIC’S statement on the use of pyro at games was very strong an did not leave room for error on how they are feeling about the issue.

The club have already been fined this term for a similar offence away from home and now have another punishment coming their way on October 17.

The Green Brigade’s visual display against at Celtic Park against Cluj was fantastic but it was always going to see us be hammered by UEFA who are at least consistent when it comes to such matters.

There’s no room for ambiguity in their rules – if you use pyrotechnics on the terraces – the club will be punished.

This could lead to a standoff by some of the Celtic support, the club and UEFA as Celtic have to be seen to be doing something about it.

Back in 2017 – the club HAD to take action against the standing section in order to make sure their licence to operate the area was passed by Glasgow City Council. The club banned the whole standing section back in 2017 to send out a message to the supporters in the section. The section were not allowed into the Rosenborg or Hearts game back in 2017.

Our fear is a similar course of action during a home European tie which would help absolutely nobody.

Celtic said in their statement “will be introducing further measures in order to deal with this behaviour” – a pretty ominous and non-specific punishment coming some fans way?
