BRENDAN RODGERS has confirmed on Thursday afternoon that there have been a number of enquiries about the availability of forgotten midfielder Scott Allan.

The Irishman is full of praise for the Ronny Deila signing and admitted the player has been unlucky to get a game under him. Brendan has not used Scot at all during his time at the club and has sent him out on two separate loans. There was speculation in the summer surrounding Allan staying at Hibs after his loan deal at Easter Road had ended, but it never materialised.

Allan didn’t go with the Celtic squad to Dubai earlier this month because it’s thought he stayed in the UK to hopefully get a move out of the club.

Brendan Rodgers has added more fuel to the fire by confirming there have been some enquiries for the players signature.

“He’s [Scott Allan] been first class, in the way he trains, how he works. He’s at the age now where he just wants to play football.” Rodgers told CelticTV.

“We’ve had some enquiries, so we’ll see how that develops”

Allan is in the last six months of his Celtic deal and will be moving on in the summer if a move away doesn’t come to anything in the next two weeks.

It was a strange signing at the time, and he was rarely used by Ronny Deila before Brendan Rodgers came to the club. It’s a move which ultimately hasn’t worked out.

  1. His signing was all about the Huns not getting him which was really petty…he had shown some decent form prior to that and its a shame he never came to anything so best of luck to him.
