Celtic released a statement to the supporters today that didn’t say much of anything.

The pandemic was rolled out as a massive reason behind our poor form and results this season. To believe the club think otherwise would be naive, or Neil Lennon would be long gone from his post.

Celtic fans didn’t get much out of what was served up by our chairman on Monday morning but there were more than a few picking out the hypocrisy in the statement.

Ian Bankier confirmed a review of the manager and playing staff is still going on and they would not be rushed into a hasty decision which might turn out to be an incorrect call. Absurdity in itself they believe a three month period of review would make for a hasty decision.

However, many fans reminded the club they had no problem making the hastiest of decisions after the treble treble cup final when they appointed the manager. The confetti was still falling onto the Hampden pitch when a statement was released — Neil Lennon was offered the hot seat in the Hampden showers. There was no issue with a hasty decision then. At the time, the board found it in their best interests to make the hasty decision and announce a major decision while we were all on a high.

These fans pointed it out and there were many others who have done the same since.

The statement reads like — we hear you, but we don’t really want to hear you.
