JOHN KENNEDY now has a big decision to make after the Celtic captain announced his intention to leave the club.

Do we continue to play the midfielder and give him a farewell tour or do we bring Ismaila Soro back in for the rest of this term to see how he handles things?

Soro has dropped off the planet in recent months after making the breakthrough. When he was dropped for Brown, there was no massive dip in form and he could certainly feel aggrieved while sitting on the bench.

Scott Brown has performed well since coming back into the side, but even though we know Broony will give everything until the end of the season, is it now time to look to the future?

The problem here is John will be in self-preservation mode whether he is conscious of it or not. He has a reputation to make for himself and bringing in less tried and tested players could yield some questionable results but it could also unearth some talent and give fringe players confidence for next season.

Kennedy is likely not going to be at the club so that’s not his issue but I’d like to see him be brave enough to put Celtic first.
