Watching big Kristoffer Ajer & Christopher Jullien at times this season has made me think this is one of the best Celtic centre-back pairings in recent times blossoming right before our eyes. Then Livingston happened and now I’m praying that performance was a one-off from both players.

I think Celtic get a result tonight against Lazio based on the performance of their centre backs. Both players will need their best performance yet in a Hoops jersey at Paradise in a few hours. That would probably be the case against Lazio in any giving season. But tonight they bring an in-form striker whose forte is Europa League goals.

Ciro Immobile scored the winner against Rennes and he has been directly involved in 12 goals in his last 11 Europa League appearances, netting eight goals and assisting a further four. He also has 9 goals in 8 appearances on the domestic front.

While Lazio have plenty of attacking players who can cause damage tonight, Immobile will need some special attention. The 29-year-old Italian joined Lazio in 2016 for £9m from Spanish side Seville.

If Ajer and Jullien are looking to take their game and reputation up to the next level, then there is no better test than tonight.
