Celtic must get AT LEAST one centre back through the door this January and to be honest, the news today around Filip Benkovic should be the easiest tap in for Celtic this month.

The Croatian had a good run lat season at Bristol City but has only been used once by Cardiff this term. His loan deal was cancelled and the defender heads back to Leicester.

We can safely say Brendan Rodgers isn’t going to start playing him and the club will be looking to get Filip game time.

The only question mark over Benkovic for Celtic fans should be; can he stay fit?

Other than that, he’s exactly what we need.

– Knows the league, and the club.

– Has worked with a lot of the bhoys there now.

– Has worked under Neil Lennon

– Loan fee and wages shouldn’t be an issue to get him back up north of the border.

He’s a player who can slip right into the thick of things for Celtic without a period of transition.

If he stays fit, it’s a huge reward transfer deal for the club. If he struggles with his fitness then the club have not squandered a large chunk of cash.

The pros weight out the negatives and I’d be astounded if the club didn’t approach Leicester.

  1. He worked under Lennon ?, Lennon never picked him, so cant see it although I agree with you it should happen, him and Declan Gallagher would be a good start with Duffy returned to Brighton.
