There was an outpouring of emotion on social media on Thursday after the news filtered through Scott Brown had signed a deal with Aberdeen which will officially end his 14 year Celtic stay this summer.

Fans have been wishing the player well and reminiscing about some of the moments Scott Brown has given us over the years.

I think the profoundly sad thing the Celtic support are dealing with right now is the fact they won’t be able to give the captain a proper send-off before he heads north.

Scott remains a Celtic player until the end of this campaign and has a handful of games left, perhaps more if there’s a Scottish Cup run. But all these games will be played behind closed doors and whenever his final game is, the whistle will echo around an empty stadium and that will be that.

A quiet end to a very eventful fourteen years.

I have no doubt Celtic fans will have something up their sleeve when it comes to giving the Hoops legend some sort of goodbye.

It will be a big moment when he officially leaves Parkhead.
