TIMO WEAH has spoken out about his future and hasn’t ruled out a return to Celtic even after the way he left on Friday afternoon!

The American is set to link up with his country for the Under-20 World Cup where he chose to play over going for glory in the Scottish Cup Final. Once that had been established Neil Lennon believed there was no point in keeping the player around any longer. Weah was told to pack his things and go according to the player himself.

Reports in France on Saturday claimed PSG are set to sell Timothy this summer once he reports back to the club after World Cup duty. Crystal Palace have been linked with a move for the former loan Celt but the man himself has not ruled out a sensational return to Celtic but he did make a comment about the manager situation.

“There haven’t been any talks yet. I will talk to my parents and lawyers. I have got a couple of options.

“Coming back to Celtic is definitely an option.” he told RecordSport.

Timo then clearly makes reference to Neil Lennon and basically says he’d consider a return despite who the manager is.

“The manager situation doesn’t matter to me. It’s more about the club and me feeling comfortable here.

“If you know you have the opportunity to develop and get game time, that is the most important thing at this stage.

“I’m ambitious and want to be somewhere where I can break into the first team.

“These are the things you have to think about.”

Weah was used sparingly with Neil Lennon and they haven’t ended in the best of terms – it’s safe to say that he won’t be back at Celtic if Neil is the new full-time man.

We wish Timo the best of luck with the World Cup.

  1. i Would like Timo back as OUR player, but with a manager/coach who will actually play him.
Today we saw in the second half that Odsonne made some excellent runs later in the game with an excellent final pass which needed a proper striker to score (Burke missed a sitter). Odsonne can be a match winner, either by himself or by providing others. On a number of occasions today he rose to head on, but there was no second striker to profit from this. Weah would have given Odsonne the support he needs and deserves.
Lennon has failed to see this aspect up to now, whereas many of us have been crying out for it. I am not convinced that the vision is there to carry us forward.

  2. There was also another assault on Scott Brown today, which the referee saw and gave a yellow. The referee is not daft as the yellow cannot be overturned. This law needs changed so that yellows can be overturned later. I am sure that Celtic were busy trying to avoid injuries today, which was the main thing, whereas Rangers players were trying to inflict injuries, because they know in the main that they can get away with it.
