It’s less than 100 days until Celtic will take to the field for the start of NEXT season when the bhoys will take part in their first Champions League qualifier.

Right now, we don’t even have a manager in place never mind a clear view of what our squad will look like.

For the squad, there’s a nightmare scenario unfolding unless Celtic begin recruitment very early and have their manager in well in advance.

If zero new signings come in until later in the summer transfer window the nightmare scenario of going into important qualifiers with this defence is very real.

Taylor, Ajer, Welsh, Hendry, Bolingoli and Bitton could be all that’s left of the defence. Worrying when Ajer could ALSO move on this summer too and might have his eye elsewhere. Hendry and Bolingoli might not be there depending on what their loan clubs decide

You could have current Celtic loan defender Leo Hjelde among those players too at a push or just out of necessity. Leo currently playing for Ross County in the SPFL.

Christopher Jullien is out injured and won’t be back until later in the year.

Laxalt, Kenny, Duffy will all head out back to their parent clubs.

Add into that the uncertainty around goalkeepers and we really look like a club ready to raise the white flag early on in Euro qualifiers.

  1. Why profess all this doom and gloom things will be alright come the start of the new season, if you need clarification of that look at the share price the value of the club has increased by some 15% on the stock market in the last month so somebody knows something and its to the good.

  2. Come off it Jim-did everything turn out alright this season?
An absolute shambles of a season and all fans have every right to be VERY concerned.
Even with a settled CEO, Manager and plenty of funds, year after year we leave it far too late to get new signings in so with none of these in place this time I have every justification to fear the worst
