Odsonne Edouard has been fantastic for Celtic up until this season. But like many of his teammates this term, he’s just not done the business. The striker hasn’t been helped by injuries and COVID, being in and out of the side.
However, as we now look beyond this season, it’s clear Eddy is not at Celtic for the long term future. His contract will come into its final 12 months during the summer and the club will look to sell.
There’s no chance of winning the league at this point and while Eddy could come good the rest of the season, his slot in the team could be going to someone will be here beyond the summer.
If Celtic can garner a large offer for the Frenchman before this window, I believe they should take it! Right now, you can get more money for Eddy than you would in the summer, it would give the club a much-needed cash injection to start planning for change and the players who still have to prove themselves have until May to show they can do it in a Celtic jersey.
The likely outcome is we don’t sell Eddy this month, we get less in the summer and he’s played from now until the end of the season just because he’s still here.
