Celtic eventually got going at Celtic Park today after a missed penalty and sitter from Scott Sinclair. Sinclair later redeemed himself with a tap in but should have been walking off at halftime with a hat-trick.

Airdrie nearly nicked an equaliser just before the halftime whistle, so Celtic need another goal to put this game to bed. The game is crying out for a striker. Celtic have managed to play their last few games without a natural striker in their starting line up. Everything about today’s team is fine but that natural predator is needed for a real threat. Oliver Burke has held the ball up well at times and tried his best to link the play up, but it’s not a natural position for him.

Celtic have new signing Timothy Weah on the bench and this looks like the kind of game that will suit his electric pace we have heard so much about. The young American will be itching to get on the pitch, Celtic have opened up the Airdrie defence on a few occasions and there will be no better way to start your Celtic career than with a goal on your debut.
