Over the past 18 months, Celtic winger James Forrest has experienced several injury issues that have kept him out the side for spells.

We haven’t seen too much of the experienced winger due to this. However, he showed the impact he can still have for the 56-year old, scoring the crucial goal in the semi-final victory over St Johnstone.

Ange stated during the week that Forrest was in the ‘best condition’ he had been since he joined the club during the summer.

After coming on in the second half, that looked pretty clear, looking sharp on the right-hand side in his 20 minutes on the park.

This will come as a delight to Postecoglou, adding another quality attacking option to his already impressive frontline.

His return to full fitness might have come at the perfect time, too, as we approach a hectic period for the season over the next month.

Although the introduction of Forrest might see Liel Abada drop out at times, that can only help the young winger.

It allows the 20-year old to have a break, given the large quantity of football he has played this season – but it will also give him more hunger, knowing he has competition now to get his place back in the side.

The 30-year olds number as a Hoops player don’t lie, hitting his 96th goal for the club on Saturday.

So, it is clear that he could play a massive part within this squad, who will look to continue building momentum as we approach the January winter break.
