JOTA won man of the match inside the stadium on Sunday afternoon, the winger showed some great creativity during the game and his goal to put the game beyond doubt was outstanding.

However, away from that striker Jota was easily rivalled for man of the match by a man who has Celtic fans split down the middle; Greg Taylor.

The left-back was brilliant from start to finish.

Our Editor took to social media at full time to sing the defender’s praises.

Greg has always had his critics, but there’s no denying he’s improved immensely under Ange Postecoglou.

Taking into consideration Greg had to learn an entirely new way to play in the inverted full back role, his performance laid down a marker for the season and sent a message to Ange Postecoglou that he’s not giving up his number one left back spot easily.

Alexandro Bernabei has come in this summer and will directly challenge Greg for a starting place in the side. With the young Argentinian pushing the former Kilmarnock man, we can expect to see even more performances like we saw today against Aberdeen.

It’s time for some Celtic fans who have continually harped on about Greg not being good enough for this Celtic team to admit he most certainly is.

  1. Ralston and Taylor should both be starting. Ralston has had a brilliant pre-season. He should have started today. Welsh also played well today. If Ange picks the team on merit. Our first pick back four could include three young local lads. Long time since that happened.

  2. These two lads came in to replace Celtic legends and suffered disgracefully from a section of so called supporters.
All our potential future players need to get encouragement from our support not cheap jibes.
