NEIL LENNON was pretty adamant the goal posts had been moved by the Government after 16 players and staff had to isolate due to Christopher Jullien’s positive test.
The manager felt the club was being dealt with differently and there was no reason for every single player to isolate.
Keith Jackson has tonight come out and given an explanation as to why the Government took the action they did against the club. Instead of a government source putting it in writing, it appears as if Keith has been asked to deliver the message.
The journalist writes: “Record Sport has learned the major reason so many of the travelling party had to self-isolate was based upon a probe into six separate journeys on the team coach, with the club’s own manifests showing injured defender Christopher Jullien sat in at least two different seats.
“The Frenchman tested positive on his return to Glasgow to prompt an urgent investigation from track and trace experts.”
“And it was only after they had examined those seating arrangements that it was decided that as many as 13 of his team-mates – along with three coaching staff including Lennon – would also have to stay at home for 10 days.”
Celtic can’t really further their argument at this point after a second positive case in the group which had to isolate. Had they not taken the precautions they did, a positive player could have infected teammates and shut down Lennoxtown altogether.
At this point, I’d prefer the manager and the club just get on with things and focus on the football. The Dubai trip will go down in history as a massive own goal by the club, whatever way they want to spin it.
No surprise there then.
So it turns out to be yet another self-inflicted wound despite CQN among others trying to spin this whole embarrassing fiasco as Govt having an anti-Celtic agenda.
Its as if the Dubai shambles wasn’t bad enough, lets continue to heap embarrassment upon embarrassment.
Celtic continue to give the story oxygen due to Lennon’s nonsense on Monday.
