Brendan Rodgers has told the media that Patrick Roberts will more than likely be in the squad for Celtic’s home tie against Dundee on Wednesday night after the winger came through 60 minutes of a developmental game unscathed.

The midfielder has been out since November and has even been back at parent club Manchester City receiving treatment.

The Englishman joined Celtic at their Dubai winter training camp and has been working with the Celtic staff closely ever since.

Rodgers confirmed Roberts will likely be in the squad, whether he gets game time on the night will be down to what happens on the field.

Rodgers said: “Patrick should be available for the squad, that was our idea to work him back for the Dundee game.

“So he played for the development team end of last week. He’s been working very hard”

Patrick Roberts loan runs out at the end of the season and it remains to be seen if Celtic will try again to sign the player permanently.
