Hamilton Accies posted out a tweet this morning that was a massive eye opener for me and many who read it.

The club posted a picture of goalkeeper coach Brian Potter being tested for the virus during their routine tests that have been carried out all season.

In the post, the Accies confirm the staggering cost of testing this season so far and it just underpins the effort and sacrifice made by clubs to get football going.

The club said they’ve shelled out almost quarter of a million on testing throughout the season and the fees are continuing to grow!

Celtic along with every other club in the SPFL will be forming out the same, if not more because they have a larger squad pool and coaching base.

In a time where finances are down to the bare bone with no fans inside stadiums, it almost feels miraculous the league has continued to stay viable up until this point.

There has to be a moment coming where the cost of playing football during the pandemic is no longer financially sound for some clubs.

Well done to the clubs who have done their best to this point to keep football on the menu while trying to keep their doors open.

  1. Anyone who still thinks this rebranded flu scam is about the health and well being of the populous has not been paying attention and is now well past the point of rescue.

  2. Go get your bumps checked. This is no scam. Take it you haven’t lost somebody to Covid -19. Once again go take your scam theories to another web site. This is about Celtic FC .

    • 98.4% of those who died from ‘covid19’ had a least one co-morbidity Ken.

      Those are the facts champs.

You keep singing out loud with your fingers in your ears to block out the facts boy.

This indeed is a Celtic website, one that seems quite obsessed with the seasonal flu rebrand.
