Celtic have two players out on loan at the moment who have never played a competitive match for the bhoys or even lived in Glasgow.

It’s crazy to think, but the unconventional transfers of Andrew Gutman and Manny Perez mean they both are technically Celtic players without kicking a ball for the club. What’s more bizarre is a large portion of the Celtic support could walk by either in the street and not have a clue who they are.

However, both Gutman and Perez are looking to show what they can do in their own country before heading to Celtic Park in search of first-team football. Tonight, their two respective loan sides came up against each other in the league and the fact wasn’t lost on the Charlotte Independence social media team who snapped both Celtic players in a pre-game meet up. The surreal moment of two Celtic players meeting up for the first time thousands of miles away from Parkhead.

Both seemed relaxed considering they were up against each other.

Charlotte Independence welcomes North Carolina for the USL game which takes place in the wee hours of the morning in Parkhead time.

It will be interesting to see how this US experiment pans out.
