News broke last night that a fee had finally been agreed between Celtic and Arsenal for the sale of Keiran Tierney. It took Arsenal three bids before pleasing the Celtic board. It has now been reported that Celtic are insisting on having a 10-per-cent sell-on clause inserted in Tierney’s contract.

According to the Record, Celtic will get a ten percent cut of any future dealings for the left-back. This is not going to please many Celtic fans this morning as the only news they want to hear is that the deal is off. Celtic fans have no interest in sell-on clauses or transfer fees, they want their player to stay at Paradise.

Celtic profited £7m when Virgil van Dijk went from Southampton to Liverpool. Moussa Dembele is also reported to have a 10% sell-on fee attached to his Lyon contract and the French striker has been linked with big-money moves to big clubs in this transfer window.
