We have awoken this morning to a raft of rumours about Tom Rogic’s potential departure from Celtic at the end of this season.

Some people already have the midfielder wrapped up and ready for shipping it would appear.

The Celtic star who only signed a new five-year deal last season is apparently coveted by Southampton and Leicester. Two very safe bets and logical choices if you wanted to link the player with a move away. Southampton because they exclusively shop in the Celtic catalogue and Leicester because Brendan Rodgers is now their manager. Safe and easy.

The reports have emanated from an Australian Newspaper ‘The Sydney Morning Herald’ and to prove how silly this rumour seems at the minute the paper puts Rogic’s valuation anywhere between $18 million and $37 million. Wow!

The UK tabloids seem to be running with this story at present but there seems very little in it at all. The 26-year-old midfielder quite happy at Celtic, however, if anyone wants to offer that top end valuation by the Sydney Herald then be my guest!

  1. Look if any player wants to go then let him,any money you get for selling a player must be given to the new manager so he can bring in new faces so he can put his stamp on his team….

  2. AUSD is £1 to $1.86 so $18m is £10m to £20m is the bracket I’d put him in so price is ballpark & the 2 teams are the most likely suitors so may have a slither of truth. I’m surprised Forrest doesn’t seem to attract massive attention down south (thankfully)
