Any talk of Victor Wanyama coming back looks to be short lived with the players close to agreeing a deal to make a permanent move to Brugge.

Before Victor signs on the dotted line he apparently wants to make sure his new club will be playing Champions League football with the second leg of their qualifier next week.

Over and above that, there’s just no way Celtic could ever manage to pull a deal together for the midfielder. According to SunSport, the player will move to Brugge for £13.5m and be paid in the region of £65kpw. Numbers that just don’t get thrown around at Celtic.

Fans on social media were dreaming after Fraser Forster revealed he had contact with Wanyama on Thursday night who told the Englishman to keep his number warm.

While the papers ran with the story – Victor Wanyama drops Celtic hint – it seems nothing more than a passing gesture between two old teammates.

The only way are reunion would be likely is if Victor turned down Brugge and Celtic managed to get him on Loan which seems pie in the sky.
