We reported earlier today that Celtic had 750 briefs for Ibrox sitting in the Celtic Park ticket office ready to be rolled out only for the rug to be pulled from underneath the club last minute.

A source close to the club told CeltsAreHere theRangers reneged on the tickets after Celtic couldn’t given an absolute guarantee they’d be able to reciprocate in January. However, if the situation continues as it is or gets better then they would get their tickets. Basically, Celtic couldn’t agree to 750 tickets when they don’t know what the landscape will look like for the New Year derby. Read the full story [here].

The wider ramification for this is the derby continuing without away fans.

CeltsAreHere can confirm Celtic tried to open dialogue with the Ibrox club over a return to the old away days where 7500 Celtic fans would get in for the Glasgow Derby and Celtic would reciprocate. After the theRangers latest stunt, this move is dead in the water right now.

There are fans out there who believe we shouldn’t be giving them any tickets for Celtic Park but there are others who are of the opinion something is lost in the atmosphere by banning the away support.

Let’s not forget, it was Celtic’s 3-2 victory at Ibrox when Edouard scored the winner than prompted theRangers to cut our allocation. The club had so much success in the derby it was clear our rivals were not for allowing us to party in the stands anymore.

It’s all pepty and Celtic get dragged into this kind of nonsense, we know Celtic would 100% like to reinstate away fans for the derby but we’re not dealing with adults, unfortunately.

  1. They started this so why should we give them any tickets they will blame Celtic for this as usual they can do no wrong. I wouldn’t give them a penny never mind the £50 plus for a ticket to help them

  2. Do it to them. They said 750 and they never had any intention of giving Celtic any away tickets. We know what will happen with or home game against Rangers we will give them away tickets or we will refuse and the SPFL will get involved and make sure those tickets will be allocated to the Rangers fans. This is an absolute joke.

  3. Good sides like to keep the home fans quite,do that listen to there noise and if you hear moans groans then your doing the right job,Celtic as a team can play both ways with or without fans…

    Bring it on..

  4. HH who cares what they do, why should we give them money to help them. Celtic could open up Parkhead get big screens up so we can cheer them on putting our roar fed back to them so our team can hear and them lol ut’s worth a try ktf

  5. I am happy to take no fans. It merely shows their rightful fear of Famous Celtic. Celtic should never allow their heathen hordes inside Paradise again for any reason. This is the perfect solution.
