Tom Rogic has been named in Australia’s preliminary squad for the World cup this summer.

The young midfielder went out on loan in January to Melbourne Victory to ensure he was among the players heading to Brazil and after an up and down season he has made it.

Tom has found it very hard to break into the Celtic first team and admitted it would be a tall order seeing as he occupies the same role as Kris Commons does.

He now has a chance on the world stage to show Neil Lennon why he should be given a chance at Parkhead.

Former Socceroo’s Captain Ned Zelic backs the midfielder to come good but is unsure if that will happen at Celtic.

”Tommy’s the type of player that can go through a difficult bad patch, but can flick the light switch on” said the former Dortmund player.

”He really next season has to get himself organised club wise and get himself playing somewhere regularly.”

We wish Tom all the best in Brazil and are hoping to give you regular updates of all Celtic Bhoys playing in Brazil.
