ANGE POSTECOGLOU has been asked about Albian Ajeti this week ahead of the new season.

The Swiss striker has hardly played under the Hoops gaffer since Ange came into the club and there are at least three players in front of Albian in the pecking order.

At this point, it would be better for the player and the club if they parted ways before the end of this window. The deal has been a disaster for Celtic; since signing during the lockdown season, Albian has failed to make any sort of impact on the team.

Coming in from West Ham, there was high hoped he could be a natural goalscorer for the club, but it’s hasn’t turned out that wat.

Speaking to SunSport, Ange confirmed the player has been struggling with a knee injury but didn’t rule out Ajeti moving on this month:

“He has a knee problem but trained in Glasgow when we were over in Poland.

“We will see what happens. There’s still time in this window and there will be some movement.

“We’ve been active bringing players in and we’ve probably shifted the dial to now be agile. We’ll be ready to go either way.”

Kyogo, Giakoumakis and Maeda will all be in front of Albian and even if they were all somehow out injured, Liel Abada would likely step in.

The problem is the contract the striker is on. His wages are too high for many teams who might want to take a punt on him. Let’s hope the club can reach a solution.
