Remember last month when we had to sit and listen to opinion after opinion telling us how the mighty Gers were going to smash us at Ibrox. The hyperbolism was so nauseatingly obnoxious it had many Celtic fans worrying.
One claim which was made at the time was Ibrox loan player Sheyi Oji claiming the boys in blue were the best team in the country. He came back down to earth with a crash, bang and wallop when Celtic rolled into Ibrox and Edouard told everybody to calm down before Jonny Hayes sent them home.
Sheyi did nothing when he came on and was powerless to stop Celtic. However, it’s only taken one Celtic draw for the player to come back out of the woodwork.
“I stand by what I said and I think Rangers are on a good run of form. We are doing really well so far this season and we are looking hungry. Ojo told RecordSport.
“It can only be a positive for any team that looks hungry and is getting wins. Of course we have to give Celtic respect but, from my own opinion, I believe we can have a really successful season.”
It never takes much for them to pipe up in some form or fashion. There’s nobody at Celtic spouting any of this nonsense even though they’d be justified in doing so. Celtic have won everything before them domestically for three seasons yet the boasts keep coming from across the city – go figure.
