It is probably more of a slight on Dundee and the league in general that some mainstream media have reported Celtic’s game at Dens Park this afternoon as a warm-up game for Saturday’s Glasgow Derby.
If the mainstream media had bothered to check Brendan Rodgers stats against Dundee & *Rangers, they would see that Dundee present a more difficult test. It most certainly is not a practice match.
In SPFL games against Dundee, Celtic have mostly taken 3 points by a single goal. Celtic fair much better in cup games but Dundee at Dens Park is a tough test for Celtic. Celtic have enjoyed mixed fortunes this season and displays have blown hot and cold. Nevertheless, the Celts sit pretty on top of the league table with an 8 point cushion.
The Celtic display in their last game against Aberdeen looked a lot more like the team of invincibles. The same performance will be required today if Celtic are to add another 3 points on to the league table.
